jaclyn did such great job summing up our time traveling together that i'll just let her do the talking:
"Let me backtrack:
Rachael and I had an absolutely incredible time in Morocco.. I could go on and on about the colors and beauty of that place, but even more special to me were the last 2 days where we started really having fun with some of the street vendors, joking back and forth in my broken french and their broken english, and where we made friends with a group of Moroccan guys, through some English friends we met in a hammam, who turned out being really great to us and incredibly hospitable... It was hard leaving but we were welcomed in charming England by Cheryl, a friend of Rachael, who invited us into her little home out in Hertfordshire. It was SO nice to have the luxury of a nice bed, showers, and the ability to do laundry in her house and Cheryl herself was precious with her English accent and sweet personality. She even put Cadbury chocolate on our pillow with a little welcome card! We spent the next day in London, 5 hours of which was spent in the Tate Modern... ( good thing Rachael loves art as much as me!) we saw everything we needed to in London and fell in love with the city.. and we couldn't leave without having fish and chips in a pub:) We spent the next day in St. Albans, saw the church which was magnificent and not crowded at all.. the countryside of England is everything I've ever read in books and imagined.. rolling hills of green grass, sheep, cottages.
After a sad goodbye to Cheryl on thursday we left for Belfast, Northern Ireland, excited and a little curious about how our time in Ireland would compare to our previous travels...
Our time there ended up being some of my favorite...
We went to Northern Ireland to visit and stay with Jonny who is another friend of Rachael's whom she did her discipleship training school with 2 years ago so this was a reunion for them as well. We stayed with Jonny and his family of 7 in their house right outside of Belfast. Jonny and his bro Paul picked us up from airpoirt and brought us back to a house that reminded me
a lot of growing up in households of tons of people, lots of chatter, lots of laughter, food and thick Northern Irish accents...
the following 3 days were so sweet.. the Chambers (jonnys fam) were more than hospitable, they welcomed us into their family.. jonny's dad brought us tea and toast in bed every morning
(need i say more) we laughed so much in those few days and i grew so fond of their family and of Irish culture.. we went to the Northern coast of gorgeous hills and sharp cliffs off of the sapphire blue sea, we played soccer on the beach, ate "real" fish and chips according to jonny, got to go to church with their family, heard jonny and paul play in their band Thicket, played more soccer in a park.. it was just amazing and refreshing."
